Ingredients

  • 16 oz dried green split peas rinse
  • 2 cups fully cooked ham cubed
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 cup julienned or chopped carrots
  • 5 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary crushed
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 russet potato Peeled and diced
  • 1 carton reduced-sodium chicken broth 32 ounces
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  • In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low until peas are tender, 8-10 hours.
