Ingredients
- 16 oz dried green split peas rinse
- 2 cups fully cooked ham cubed
- 1 large onion chopped
- 1 cup julienned or chopped carrots
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary crushed
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 1 russet potato Peeled and diced
- 1 carton reduced-sodium chicken broth 32 ounces
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low until peas are tender, 8-10 hours.
